Structured Support: Website & Digital Content Review

Goal: Help districts identify where they stand and prioritize action steps.

Suggested Tools & Structure:

A. Accessibility Inventory Checklist

• Homepage compliance (alt text, keyboard navigation, contrast)

• Menu and navigation structure

• Linked documents (PDFs, slides, etc.)

• Embedded media (captions, transcripts)

• 3rd-party tools/platforms in use (e.g., LMS, calendars, video hosting)

• Mobile responsiveness

• Policies and ongoing review processes

ESU 10 can provide a Google Sheet checklist that districts can duplicate and use to self-audit.

B. Review Process

1. Initial Inventory – District completes the checklist with or without ESU 10 support.

2. Accessibility Scan – Use automated tools (e.g., WAVE, Siteimprove, axe DevTools) for baseline data.

3. ESU 10 Review Meeting – Discuss findings, prioritize fixes, and document recommendations.
